
Before becoming a freelance fashion stylist, Joni Kilmurry worked internationally in the fashion industry for over 10 years.
She started her career as a model, working in the UK and Europe, featuring in editorial campaigns for Adidas, Chipe, Filofax and Ballantyne Cashmere, as well as booking catwalk for Armani, Agent Provocateur and Ultimo.
She went on to gain an honours degree in fashion & textile design from the acclaimed Glasgow School of Art, where she was awarded numerous prizes for her designs from the Royal Society of Arts, Hand & Lock and The Worshipful Company of Weavers.
Finishing her studies, Joni produced her own womanswear label with stockists in both London and Japan, whilst continuing to freelance design for companies and producing textile designs for Liberty of London, DKNY and Designer Guild, in addition to private commissions.
A move towards fashion styling became an obvious progression for Joni, with such valuable contacts in the industry firmly established from several years working as both a model and designer. Joni relocated to London, where she worked as a stylist and personal shopper, in addition, she joined the team at Topshop, the UK’s biggest highstreet fashion retail brand; establishing the Style Advisor Service for Bromley, the largest of the South London stores. Regularly training staff on the leading fashion trends, dealing with press events and celebrity clients, as well as working alongside the Topshop design team to create season reviews for forthcoming trends.
Joni has developed her skills and honed her craft in both London and Los Angeles, where she now spends time working as a stylist and personal shopper. She has styled for numerous magazines including, Borne Magazine, Grazia and the Beverly Hills magazine Genlux, as well as various actresses, including the Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren and campaigns for Daniel Hersheson and Littlewoods.
